A bid by the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames has been made for a new eight-form secondary school.

A successful bid will help deal with Kingston's classroom bloating
The area desperately needs a new secondary school to open in September 2015 in the north of the Borough to provide sufficient places to deal with demand. Classrooms in Kingston have been bulging since 2008.
Councillor Liz Green, Executive Member for Education for All, says: "We hope that the Secretary of State gives urgent consideration to the demographic need for a new secondary school in Kingston and includes our bid in those projects to be delivered for 2015/16."
It is not yet known when a decision will be made.
