It appears the Christmas period was truly present in Kingston last year.
Police have said there were no reports of Greivous Bodily Harm, and there were ten less reports of shop lifting the year before.
Figures were released as part of an evaluation of Operation Giftwrap.
For the period December 12 to January 2, 7 2012 to January 2, 2013 notifiable offences dropped by 40 per cent on the previous year.
There was just one of robbery and only five instances of common assault.
Inspector Gary Taylor, who has headed the Town Centre team for three years, explained: "We use intelligence and analysis of previous hotspots to know where to site our resources."
"Most people come to Kingston to enjoy a good evening out and extended shopping experience, again this year they were able to do so reassured that we were speedily on hand"
