Pet owners, particularly those with cats are being warned of a person harming animals in the Kingston and Surbiton area.

Earlier this morning, a cat was shot in the leg with a high powered air rifle on the Brittania Road Estate.  Luckily the cat is still alive, but has suffered a shattered leg.

Earlier in the month, Kingston Police were contacted about a decapitated cat being found on Iris Close in Surbiton, which also had it's tale removed.

The Met Police have said they're confident the injuries were not inflicted by another animal.

It's believed the animal died whilst it's owners were holiday from between the 8th and 10th October 2012.

Anyone who knows anything suspicious, relating to animal cruelty is being advised to notify the authorities.
