Kingston is even brighter than usual this Christmas thanks to Kingstonfirst who have installed more lights than ever before.
Kingston looks dazzling this Christmas
An extra twinkle has been added to the area directly outside Kingston Station, where a fantastic 'Hollywood' tree studded with thousands of tiny white LED lights provides a warm magical festive glow to visitors as they enter Kingston.
Lights have also been upgraded in Thames Street, Castle Street, Market Street, Old London Road and Eden Street thanks to Kingstonfirst, the place management organisation for the Town Centre.
But be assured that all this added sparkle is being made as eco-friendly as possible with new energy saving lights introduced across the displays.
Meanwhile, Kingston residents are getting into the festive spirit this year with Kingstonfirst delighted with the amount of voluntary support it has received in its attempts to make this the town's best ever Christmas.
More than 50 volunteers helped to make the Christmas Lights Switch-On on Thursday, November 15th a success by greeting people at the Information Kiosk and Visitor Centre helping to switch on the Christmas lights and providing support and assistance for the public during the evening.
Ros Morgan, chief executive of Kingstonfirst, said: "We are delighted to have been able to provide a new tree outside the train station for all of the people coming in and out of Kingston to enjoy.
"Christmas is extra-special in Kingston and we are so grateful to so many people who have once again supported our efforts this year. In the same way as the Olympics volunteers were the heroes of the Games, we will have our own heroes throughout the Town Centre for the Christmas Lights Switch-On."
Don't forget to take advantage of Kingston's park and ride service every day until January 5. Park for free at Chessington World of Adventures South Explorer Car Park and buses leave every 10 minutes between 7.30am to 7pm, with a half hourly service up to 9pm. A return fare is £2.30, while U16s go free.
