Those wanting to really wanting to get in the Christmas spirit are being invited outside the Bentall Centre on Monday (3rd December) to light up the tree.

The Mayor of Kingston will be joined by the choir of Kingston Grammar School to sing carols for about half an hour at 11am.

The tree is, of course, in its usual location outside the main entrance of the Bentall Centre.

Rotarian's and their supporters will be collecting around the tree on 8 other days between the opening and Christmas Eve between the hours of 10am and 4pm.

Lively Christmas music will be played and Father Christmas will be there to greet the children and reward them with a sweet, if they are kind enough to put some money in his collecting box.

Last year Rotary's collections totalled about £3,800 and this money goes to local charities and needy individuals.
