Kingstonfirst is supporting local businesses with its new Market House pop-up scheme, which kicked off with its first exhibition on 4th February.

Artist/Designer/Maker was an exhibition of 23 pieces of work compiled by Art and Design students at Kingston College, the first of its kind to be held by the College.

Rob Miller, course leader at Kingston College said: "The Market House was a great space to show our work, it not only helped take the students out of the academic context and into a commericalised environment but due to its central location it really drew the crowds and attention to their work, it has been a great success for all involved, with many of the students considering using the space as a showroom for their work after they complete their studies."

The art exhibition was then followed by a fashion show from Peek Boutique, the pop-up shop giving the new company a perfect opportunity to display their clothes and accessory range to potential customers.

Ros Morgan, Chief Executive of Kingstonfirst said: "It is great to be able to work with local community groups, educational institutions and retailers to help improve their visibility in the Town Centre. Even though the scheme has only just started it has already been a huge success with many others already coming forward to use the space. We hope this will be something that can continue throughout the year as we are eager to help local community groups and businesses start up and expand."
