Record breaking attempt taking place in Kingston

An attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people Irish dancing at the same time is taking place in Kingston this Thursday.

The record currently stands at 10,036.  

People who want to take part in the event are being invited to O'Neill's in Kingston at 7pm.

The attempt starts at 8pm followed by a 5 minute window to write themselves into the history books. 

Nicola, Manager at O'Neil's in Kingston has said: "Every year we look at ways to celebrate St Patrick's Day." 

"Money raised out from selling St Patrick's Day hats is going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation." 

To make sure everyone is kept track of during the famous five minutes, the record attempt will be streamed live online.
