Schools across Kingston Upon Thames get cash funding

Thanks to the Pupil Premium scheme introduced by the Coalition Government just before Christmas, schools across the Kingston are are to get a slice of a £3 million pound grant.
Money is allocated to schools depending on the number of children from disadvantaged backgrounds they have, at a rate of £900 per pupil.
Below is a list of some of the schools in Kingston Upon Thames, and how much money money they're expected to receive.
Alexandra Infant School - £21,600
Coombe Hill Infant School - £19,800
Coombe Hill Junior School - £36,000
King Athelstan Primary School - £102,600
King's Oak Primary School - £146,700
Robin Hood Primary School - £54,900
Southborough High School - £135,000
The Tiffin Girls' School - £18,000
Tiffin School - £41,400
Fern Hill Primary School - £35,100
St John's CofE Primary School - £15,300
St Luke's CofE Primary School - £13,500
St Paul's CofE Junior School - £31,500

This is not new money. The real story here is that Local authorities always were given money to help deprived schools but many of them including RBK, were guilty of not allocating it appropriately so the Government took this responsibility away from Local Authorities and now funds schools for deprivation directly. This is excellent news for schools like Kings Oak where I used to be a Governor and spent many years fighting RBK for fair funding. http://tinyurl.com/9wra5gg
