During the early hours of Saturday morning, "several thousand" people in Kingston were left with no power.

The power went out at around 3.08am.

Stemming from the King's Road area, there was an interruption of electricity because of a fault on the High-Voltage distribution network.

Power was back on in full, in just over an hour at 4.19am.

A poweroutage in Kingston happened on Thursday, however, a UK Power Network (UKPN) spokesperson has said that the two were unrelated.

UKPN have said: "We appreciate how difficult it can be to lose power and would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused by this incident."
