Currently grandparents across the country are providing a staggering £33 billion worth of day care services, and the majority of those are doing it for nothing but their own personal devotion. And this new trend appears to be beneficial to all generations as families are coming closer together in order to work effectively.

68% of grandparents believe that helping out with the grandkids has brought them closer to their adult children, while studies have shown that youngsters who spend regular time with their grandparents develop better emotionally and socially.

With 70 million grandparents in the UK today and another 1.7 million joining the ranks every year, it’s easy to see why grandparents are becoming more active in the daily life of their families. Many remain in full or part-time work while still finding time to help out with the children. And yet only 66% of grandparents have celebrated Grandparents’ Day; a day for recognising all the hard work that grandparents do throughout the year.

So this Sunday 7th October 2012, why not show your appreciation for your grandparents and let them know how much you care on Grandparents’ Day by sending beautiful flowers in Kingston.
