National BookStart Day is on Friday June 11th this year and we are off to the seaside.

On 11th June  there will be special Rhyme and

Storytimes in Kingston Library and the Rose Theatre.

Kingston Library will have 2 sessions starting at 10:15 and 10:45. Due to the limit on space for buggies you are advised to get there early.

The Rose Theatre will have a session at 11:15 with a limit of 50 buggies due to space. If you are bringing a baby in a sling you should  be allowed in even after this limit is reached.

Tudor Drive Library will be having their special Rhyme and

Storytime session on Tuesday  15th June at 2:15pm.

The aim of the day is to highlight BookStart a campaign that encourages parents and carers to share books with children and babies from as early as possible.

Bookstart is administratored by the charity BookTrust who have an office in Putney and run many awards including the Orange Prize.  BookStart book packs are available to children at 3 different ages under 1 years, 18 to 36 months and 36 to 48 months at Kingston Libraries - just ask.

For more information on sessions pop in to  or contact Kingston Library, The Rose  Theatre or Tudor Drive Library.
