What's On For Kids In Kingston This Summer

With the Summer

holidays approaching fast there is a lot on the news about childcare

problems and keeping children occupied this summer. Luckily in Kingston there are plenty of activities to keep them busy.

Kingston offers some

holiday play-schemes for information on them telephone Families

Information Service on 020 8547 6582 In addition the YMCA Hawker

Centre offers two schemes - one for 4 to 11 years and the other

for 9 to 12 years between 26th July to 27th

August.

The scheme for 4 to 11

year olds involves sports, arts and crafts, team games, quizzes and

competitions. It is a well run scheme that been going on for years.

For the 9-12 year olds

the space@basement Summer Day

Camp offers different activities everyday including swimming, Lazer

Quest, rock climbing and cycling. Further information can be found by

If you have a kid

interested in football then Fulham Football Club is running summer

holiday courses for budding players between 3 -14 years. They are

also running goalkeepers courses for children between 8-14 years old.

The courses take place at either the Fulham Football Club Training

Ground in Motspur Park or at the Hawker Centre in Lower Ham Road.

Free to enter Kingston

Museum is running it's Summer Holiday Exhibition until 28th

August 2010 called “Ancient Wisdom”, which is a hands on

and interactive exhibition especially targeted at children. There are

also additional events and activities every Thursday.

Kingston Council has

published a booklet called Summer Activities 2010 listing a wide

range of courses and activities for children to do. The booklet can

be picked up in libraries and leisure centres around the borough.

Activities listed include 4 Day Riding Courses at Kingston Riding

Centre for both beginners and experienced riders, and Summer Tennis

Camps at Coombe Wood Lawn Tennis Club  (near Kingston Hospital) for children between 4 to 18

years old.

Finally The Bentall

Centre is offering free activities for Children from 3 to 11 years

every Thursday. More information can be found in the events section

of this website.
