It's the bank holiday weekend in Kingston. Some people are going away while others are staying put.

Luckily for those going aboard their are no planned strikes, and the Icelandic Volcano has calmed down meaning that there won't be flight disruption.

For those staying at home and

planning day trips there are no major engineering works on South West

Trains, however the District and Circle Lines have engineering works

meaning that parts of those lines will be closed.

For those going further afield in the UK the weather is predicted to be a typical British one with

plenty of rain. The roads are also predicted to be chaos on Friday

evening due to the great get away as it's half term for children.

While

older children will be revising others  will be looking for things to

do this week.  Hopefully the weather will improve over the week but some of the

organised activities going on this half-term include Face Painting at

the Bentall Centre  and  African Drumming at Kingston Library.

I'm

off camping on the South Coast this weekend but if you are getting up

to something interesting this long weekend tell people in Kingston.

Oh

and if Monday is your bi-weekly bin and recycling collection day don't

forget to put your rubbish out - the bin men do work Bank Holidays like

in other London Boroughs.
