After a night of heavy rain and with the rain still coming down I woke up happy that the Thames Water Sewage works completed two years ago mean the risk of flooding around me has been seriously reduced and I can walk down the street without the traffic drenching me.

However if you live near Beverly Brook in Kingston Vale or the Hogsmill River you aren't going to be so lucky.  The envirnomental agency have announced flood warnings for the areas surrounding those rivers. You can register to receive flood warnings on the Environmental Agency website via phone, text or email.

And I've just heard that Banquet Records are having  interminant power cuts  like I had last week when it rained.  When I phoned EDF  they stated that no-one in the area had contacted them even though I could hear alarms ringing through the neighbourhood. So if you have a power cut you may as well report it because it's free on 0800 7838866
