Make Friends And Exercise In Kingston

Hearing about the new
website where you can buy a friend I thought of a group in Kingston that
allows you to make friends without buying them and exercise at the same
time. This group is the Zucchini Walking Club.
The group enjoy
pleasant walks throughout the year in Richmond Park. The walks are
social and fun and a great way to make friends. In addition they are
informative as their team leader Monica has a great knowledge of nature.
To ensure you get the
benefits of regular exercise the founder of the Club, Azam, decided to set up a system where a
regular donation or “membership fee” as little as £5 per month would
be paid directly to one of three charities. The charities are:
- Médecins Sans
Frontieres
- Save The Children
- Queen Elizabeth Foundation For Disabled People based in
Leatherhead
Both the donation and
the weekly “walk of the week” emails act as a motivation to keep
walking.
On the social side the
group arrange picnics in the Park. For example last Friday they
arranged a picnic in the Park with food delivered to them from the Spice
Lodge to celebrate the group’s birthday.
The Zucchini Walking
Club got their name as they meet at the Zucchini Shop on 265 Kings road. At the moment the
group meet on Wednesdays at 6pm and Fridays at 6.30pm before setting of
around Richmond Park. All you need is to wear walking shoes or
trainers, and you should bring a bottle of water.
