Kingston Heritage Sites At Risk

The Kingston Upon Thames Society were involved in limiting the high of Charter Quay
published a report highlighting that a number of historic sites in
Kingston are at risk of decay due to the recession and it’s up to local
people to help save them. The Heritage at Risk Register 2010 highlights
that there has been a significant decline in the restoration of Grade I
and II listed buildings since 2007.
In Kingston the sites
that are at risk include:
- The former Head Post Office at 42 Eden Street
- Kingston Telephone
Exchange in Ashdown Road
- Gallows Conduit in Coombe
- Castle Hill Earthwork
in Chessington
involved in the conservation and planning of Kingston, and want to find

Kingston Upon Thames Society. The Amenity Society is a voluntary
organisation that does a wide range of activities from being the
guardians of Gallows Conduit and running the Heritage Open Days in
September, to being involved in major planning decisions put before the
