This evening I had the pleasure of attending Vital Kingston's last in the current series of Open Heart Surgeries. This one was called "Cafe Society and Kingston After Dark"
The workshop was well attended by local residents, local retailers, representives from local business groups including Kingston Chamber of Commence, council and church representatives and a councillor.
The speakers Simon Browing and Mark Allibone (who doesn't understand twitter) explained how to build a Cafe Society for local residents using examples including the Eagle in Islington and The Green Mill in Chicago.
This was followed by a open discussion and group discussions where people where able to get their points across about the possibilities and difficulties in the vision.
The Surgery closed on a positive note and Vital Kingston will have a public consultation document out by the end of the year.
