Kingston based harpist Gillian Tingay
will be performing in a concert to raise funds for Kingston charity Momumtum at the
Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington on 3rd October 2010 at
7pm.
Gillian, who was awarded a scholarship
to study with Marisa Robles at the Royal College of Music at the age
of 15, has taken time out from her busy schedule to perform for
Momumtum.
In addition the concert will also
feature Soprano Sophi Bevan, Mezzo-Soprano Jean Rigby and Baritone
Ashely Holland who will be performing operatic favourites. Plus violinists Juliette and Tanja Roos
from the Yehudi Menuhin School in Surrey will be performing
accompanied on piano by their mother Ilana Roos.
The
money raised will go directly towards supporting children
and their families
who have cancer and life-limiting conditions, in Surrey and South
West London. Momentum also raises funds for projects
in the Paediatric oncology departments at Kingston Hospital, St.
George’s in Tooting, West Middlesex and St.
Peter’s in Chertsey.
If you can't go the
concert but want to donate then you can sponsor Tudor Morris, who was
helped by Momentum when he was diagnosed with cancer at the age of
13. He is doing a 1000 Mile Bike ride to raise funds as part of Team
TROTT. More information on
his quest can be found here.
Tickets for the
concert, which cost £17 and £22, can be obtained either from the
LandMark Arts Centre on 020 8977 7558
or Momentum's Office on 020 8974 5931
