What is Katie Doing With That Cushion?

One of my friends' (known on here as

Luxy_) is getting married this month and I have the honour of being

one of her bridesmaids. As the other bridesmaid, Katie, is pregnant

it was pretty awkward choosing dresses so we had to find somewhere

that either did maternity bridesmaids wear or altered dresses to fit.

A few weeks before Christmas after

going to two other shops in Kingston we had an appointment with Love Me

Do Brides.

Unlike in the other shops we had the

entire basement floor to ourselves so we had a rummage through the

dress rail to find dresses to try on with the help of Lisa.

Not knowing how the dresses would look

with a bump Lisa came up with a plan of shoving a cushion up the

front of the dresses Katie tried on to see how they would look. And

more importantly to check for corsets that dug into the stomach.

After an hour of trying on dresses we

finally found a dress style that suited both of us and would allow

room for a bump with comfort.

Then we noticed that the shop sold

wedding shoes so we had a look at them to find a pair that would

suit the bride-to-be and where the right colour. After

finding 2 suitable pairs in white and ivory, and not knowing what colour

the dress was, the mother of the bride was telephoned and consulted.

The ivory pair were then purchased.

Before we left the shop Luxy_ asked

for advice on a veil she was borrowing from Katie. She was told to

bring it in to see how it was suppose to be put on. She also asked

if Lisa was ever tempted to try the wedding dresses on..........

Katie and I went back yesterday to have

our dresses altered. Luckily for us March is not prime wedding season

so we could have our dresses altered really late by Tatiyana. The

shop has a list of dress alterers and any other service you would

need for the day.
