Unless you have been shut away from the

media you would be aware that not only are there General Elections

going on, but also Council Elections on 6th May in

Kingston. The vast majority of the Candidates for both elections are

riding on a party political ticket this means they cannot say what

they think. However there is one candidate who can - Vic Bellamy.

Vic Bellamy is standing as an

independent candidate for Hook Rise and Tolworth. Unlike over 70% of

the candidates standing in local election he actually lives in the

ward he wants to represent.

He promised his now deceased father

that he would stand in the elections to make life better for the for

the Elderly, the Vulnerable, Low income earners or the Young people

of the Borough whose needs are very often ignored by the current council.

He says that:

“I don't have any

party political affiliations whatsoever. My personal  political

beliefs are basically central neither right nor left.

However I do have a

strong belief in "Fairness" and "Honesty" when

it comes to local politics and in life in general.”

Having been ignored

by councillors when his family required their help, and having gone

to a few council meetings which he describes as a “Chimps tea

party” he has decided the only way to get things done is “ if

you took the "Politics" out of local government and left it

to an elected non political cross section of the community a lot

more would get done at a less wasteful rate.”

His website www.bellamy4rbk.com

explains in detail his views. Oddly enough the pages on his site

that link to information on councillors and top council employees pay on the Kingston Council website have been removed.
