Well it seems that the site of the Gala Bingo Hall on Richmond Road in Kingston has been finally been sold to a company who plan to turn the building into a nightclub.

That is unless residents get their way.

Residents and businesses in Canbury Ward are using the council's online petitions to show their opposition to the plans.

Residents are opposed to the plans for a number of reasons including the noise and nuisance caused by clubbers especially after they leave the club in the early hours of the morning.

If you want to add your signature to the petition then you can add it here.

I don't know how they will fill another nightclub. There are lots of live music venues and comedy venues in Kingston so another nightclub is not needed.

I think that everyone should support this as it's not just Canbury residents that will suffer.  Kingston has been lucky so far in that the very large chain pubs haven't yet taken over the town centre, other than the Kings Tunn.  We already have two very large clubs and a third would change the nature of the town centre for the worse.
