Amazing!

I have been gluten free for my whole life and in all that time I have never been anywhere like this. I'm used to having to ask what I can have, and battling to make a waitress understand even what gluten is, but here we was asked as we sat down 'would you like the gluten free menu?' The understanding that this restaurant has of the difficulties for people with allergies is outstanding - they really minimise cross-contamination, and the gluten free menu is so extensive. Me and my Mum shared a starter platter, which was gorgeous, and had calamari in it, which I have never had a chance to try before. I had ravioli, something else I have never been able to taste, and it was incredible. Mum also tried a cartocci, and as you don't pay any more for gluten free, I could try some of her food, which was delicious. The decor was great, the staff were friendly and actually knew what they were talking about, so the atmosphere was really welcoming. Really, I can't praise this restaurant enough. It has won awards and they are well deserved. The only problem was that we didn't have space for dessert! I can't wait to go again - it's definitely worth a trip!

    Extensive gluten-free menu

My first visit last night to this local Italian restaurant with some friends who follow a gluten-free diet. While I think the opportunity of an extensive menu of gluten-free is great and fills a niche in the local restaurant landscape, I think I prefer the other Italian restaurant options available.

The food was fine (the gluten-free rosemary pizza bread was a highlight for me) but the place lacked the lovely warm atmosphere available elsewhere.

Bruschetta is not off my list completely and I will probably go again, but it just didn't make the top spot for me.
